The Woodland Wahoos:
The Woodland Wahoos Swim Team is a member of the Rappahannock Swim League which is a summer swim league. The Team was formed in 1995 with members coming from Park Ridge, Aquia Harbor, and Curtis Park swim teams. The Woodland Wahoos Swim Team provides a fun, competitive swim program that encourages and emphasizes good sportsmanship and individual responsibility. Team members are encouraged to achieve personal as well as team goals. Through regularly scheduled practices, the Woodland Wahoos Swim Team will endeavor to improve the physical fitness of our youth through stroke development and improvement. It is the policy of the Woodland Wahoos Swim Team to maximize participation of all swimmers in scheduled RSL meets, providing the swimmer meets eligibility requirements and is in good standing with the Woodland Wahoos Swim Team. All swimming is conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the national governing body for swimming, USA Swimming, as modified locally by the Rappahannock Swim League (RSL). Our goal is to be recognized as a premier swim team; full of team spirit. We want to be the preferred swim team in Stafford County.

We were very pleased with both the returning swimmers and new swimmers registrations, and the parents meeting. For any families or children that were unable to join the team at this time, you may be on the wait list for the appropriate age category. We find ourselves contracting families throughout the season as slots become available.
Our purpose as individuals and as a team is about much more than swimming. Its about creating an environment for swimmers and families to have recreational FUN. Along with that comes a commitment to the team and ourselves. Its volunteering that make the team function as good as it doesthats volunteering for various positions to participate in the swim meets and making contributions. We have a good coaching staff which we feel will make the swim season enjoyable.
I want to express a personal thanks to all members of the Woodland Wahoos Executive Board for the exceptional work in preparing for the swim season. Its off to a great start as practices have begun. The Board members have done a tremendous job in my absence.
I thank all of the families for their interest and support to make this swim season 2008 a huge success.
